The damask steel blade continues in a beautiful bolster of black wood, this bolster is compressed under extremely high pressure. The back of the blade is made of black wood. The black bolster and the end are separated by 2 brass rings.
This knife is a work of art, it is the only knife from the Shinrai collection that only has 7 layers of damask and therefor it belongs to the Special Edition of Shinrai.

VG10 7 layers Damascus Steel
The knives of Shinrai are unique as most parts are handmade. Each side of the blade consists of 3 layers of the best steel. Both sides are forged on a layer of VG10 steel, which creates 7 layers Damascus steel. The production technique is centuries old and results in stronger and harder blades. This makes the knives indispensable for every kitchen. The color of the handle may differ from the photo, as it is made of natural materials and each piece is therefore unique.
